A woodland garden view lookng northwards

Woodland garden 4

The wood ‘bench’ you can see on the left of the picture was made when we had to have the tree surgeons come in and take out a rotten oak.  Rather than cut the felled tree into lumber they carved a rustic bench with two seats and a ‘table’ in the middle for our wine glasses ;). They carved the bench with a chainsaw. To the top right of the photo is where our ‘Wild Wood’ starts. This is where we grow our shiitake mushrooms and nature sort of does her own thing.  It gets very dark in the ‘Wild Wood’ and it is where the Partridge and Pheasant like to nest.
